My Approach: Warmth & humor

We all go through difficult times and struggle with uncertainty and doubt, but we sometimes think we should keep these feelings to ourselves for fear of burdening others with our problems.

Maybe you’re struggling with low self-esteem, loss of motivation, or friendship issues. You may be coping with a loss or trauma that feels impossible to carry on your own. You just want to feel better and it can be such an overwhelming task to reach out for help during these times. Even though it may be hard to see right now, you’re not alone and you don’t need to suffer in silence.

I believe people heal when they feel seen, heard, understood, and connected. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in this healing, and I strive to offer warmth, empathy, compassion, and humor in my work with clients. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the key to facilitating insight and growth. I also believe in striving towards my own insight and growth as a person as I do this work with clients.

my specialties include:

some of my therapy approaches:

  • Person-centered

  • Existential

  • Psychodynamic

  • Family systems

EDUCATION & experience

I got my BA in Sociology from San Francisco State University, and my MS in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling at Sacramento State University. My background in sociology gave me an empathic and intersectional lens, and a desire to be a force of positive change in the lives of others. In my various professional roles, I’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of people, including children, adults of all ages, and college students. My training during my Master’s program allowed me to work therapeutically with both young adults and high school students, which really gave me a passion for working with these populations.

I am A registered associate marriage and family therapist in Sacramento

I am an AMFT (#140948), supervised by Ivy Griffin, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
