Individual Therapy in Sacramento and Online in CA

The Thrive Therapy & Counseling team provides individual therapy in a supportive, affirming space to help you work through anxiety, trauma, identity, and life transitions, in Sacramento or online across California.

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you’re feeling anxious, burned out, disconnected, or simply ready to understand yourself on a deeper level, individual therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore, grow, and heal.

At Thrive Therapy & Counseling, we help you work through what’s holding you back and move toward a life that feels more grounded, balanced, and meaningful.

What Can You Expect in Individual Therapy?

In individual therapy, you can expect:

  • To meet once a week or every other week, depending on your needs

  • To feel safe, supported, heard, and understood

  • To collaborate with your therapist to reach your personal goals

Therapy isn’t about being “fixed” — it’s about having a space where all parts of you are welcome.

Our Specialties

We work with adults and teens navigating a wide range of experiences. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, healing from past wounds, or learning to embrace your sensitivity, we’re here to help you reconnect with yourself in a supportive, grounded way.

  • Anxiety & Depression — Learn tools to quiet racing thoughts, lift low moods, and manage stress so you can feel more present and at ease.

  • Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) — Understand how early patterns of emotional disconnection may still affect you today and begin building a stronger sense of self-worth and connection.

  • Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) — Discover how sensitivity can be a strength, not a weakness, and find ways to thrive in an often overwhelming world.

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy — Find a safe, affirming space to explore identity, relationships, and life transitions with therapists who celebrate who you are.

  • Teens — Support for adolescents navigating school stress, identity, self-esteem, and the pressures of growing up in today’s world.

  • Trauma Therapy — Work gently through painful memories and experiences, finding safety and empowerment through trauma-informed care.

We also have training in related areas such as grief, self-esteem and identity development, life transitions, and brainspotting.

Online Therapy

Life can be busy—and sometimes getting to the office isn’t easy. That’s why we offer online therapy throughout California.

It works just like in-person therapy, but from the comfort of your home, office, or any confidential space (as long as you’re in California—that’s where we’re licensed!).

Why Do Online Therapy?

Online sessions can be a great fit if:

  • You’re busy and ready to invest in yourself, even with limited time

  • You have young children and need flexibility while they’re home

  • You feel more comfortable in your own space

  • You live elsewhere in California and want to work with our team

What Do You Need for an Online Session?

  • A private space—your bedroom, backyard, or even your car

  • An internet connection that can stream video

  • A computer or device (phone, tablet) with a webcam

  • Headphones (optional but helpful)

  • Your comfort items—a blanket, water, or your favorite furry friend
