FAQs & Fees

how long is a therapy appointment?

Typically, therapy appointments are 50 minutes long. Our therapists may be able to offer longer appointments by request. 

what does therapy cost?

The fee is $120-$130 per 50 minute therapy hour to see a licensed therapist (Ivy, Jory, Kristine, Rachel or Seija). All our licensed therapist also accept Out-of-network benefits and Victims of Crime compensation. Ivy, Jory, Kristine and Rachel are also covered by M&S EAP.

Arielle is an Associate MFT who works at Thrive. She offers reduced fees that range from $50-$100 per 50 minute therapy session. The fee is determined between between the client and Arielle based on income level and financial need. Arielle also accepts Victims of Crime compensation. 

We also offer group therapy and currently have a Highly Sensitive People (HSP) Online Support Group and a Teen Support Group. The fees for both groups are $40 per weekly meeting. 

can i use my insurance for therapy?

It depends on what insurance you have. Ivy, Jory and Rachel are covered by Blue Shield of California/Magellan, Western Health Advantage/Magellan, and Kaiser Magellan. Ivy is also covered by MHN/HealthNet/TriCare. If you have another insurance, you can check if you have "out-of-network" coverage. (This is typically provided with PPO plans.) If so, we'll be happy to provide you with a form each month for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement of their covered amount. 

Additionally, some clients find it helpful to pay for therapy using a Health Savings Account (HSA). 

Unfortunately, insurances do not cover therapy with Associate MFTs.

how often do i go to therapy?

We recommend meeting once a week initially so we can jump right in and really dig in to working on your goals. Depending on your needs, sometimes it’s appropriate to meet every other week, instead of weekly. As you progress, we can reduce sessions to monthly appointments or to less frequent “tune ups” to support and maintain your progress.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, check or credit card for payment at each session.
