I have a deep love for the movies—especially the dialogue. You learn so much about a character by the way they talk and connect to others. Therapy to me is watching the unfolding of a great character with real depth, emotion, and life.
As a therapist, I get the privilege to walk with you (the choice is yours to bring a cape) in a non-judgmental, comfortable, and safe space. I am the camera—I go where you go. I shine the light on the path when it gets too dark for you to keep going. I am the wide angle when your perspective is skewed. I can show you the panoramic, incredible view of you.
Often people who seek therapy feel broken, lost, stuck, and in deep pain. You are not alone. If you choose therapy with me, we will work together on developing coping skills that work for you, and get you back on your feet so that you can conquer the next villain on your own.
I strongly believe that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves. Working with me, we can bring out that strength inside you that may have been forgotten or lost. You don’t have to face the pain alone anymore. I will be firmly by your side with warmth, empathy, and a sincere belief that you can overcome your struggles and achieve happiness.
Asking for help is hard for everyone, even superheroes. If you feel that I may be a good fit for you or your child, call me today! Did I mention I LOVE working with kids and teens? Go here to read more or contact me today to chat about how I can help.
PS--I'm also a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and love working with highly sensitive clients! I even had the opportunity this past summer to attend an HSP retreat with Dr. Elaine Aron (the researcher who first coined the name "HSP") herself. If you're interested, I'd love to support you in your HSP journey!
I love to work with:
- Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), especially men who are HSPs
PARENTS. . .
Did you know I love helping angry boys? Whether they're out-of-control, emotional, sensitive, stubborn, difficult, refusing to follow the rules, or just flat out ignoring what you say, counseling can help your angry son back on track. I use play therapy for kids to learn emotional regulation, coping skills, active sharing, compassion, and strength-based techniques that focus on the positives of the child, rather than the negative. I work with kids and families. We'll set achievable and realistic goals together.
You may notice that your child becomes willing to follow rules, controlling and coping with his emotions more. You might even notice that your son starts having fun, enjoying the family and becomes a pleasure to be around again. (Yes, it is possible!)
Angry kids make for angry parents. You don't have to be at your wits end anymore. Contact me TODAY for a free 15-minute consultation, and find out how I can support your son in living up to his full potential while helping your family get back on track!
I started my educational path in forensic psychology obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Criminology at Fresno State University. I then earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at National University. As part of my training to become a licensed therapist in California, I am required to obtain 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. I am currently working under the supervision of Ivy Griffin #51714 a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am also a member of the Association of Play Therapy and attend workshops that continue my education on working with children and adolescents. My goal is to eventually become a Registered Child Play Therapist and Jedi Master.
A BIT more ABOUT ME…
I currently live in my beloved hometown of Sacramento. If I’m not at work, I’m at the gym, training for my next Tough Mudder or Spartan. I spend my spare time watching movies, quality time with my family, reading, or writing. I believe in the therapeutic value of driving with loud music, laughter, boxing, and cuddling with my dogs. I am also a dork at heart and can talk all things Batman, superheroes, Supernatural, and Star Wars.
